I worked on a (text) logo in Illustrator and saved it as .eps. Now I am using the "place" option in InDesign to bring that logo in and for some reason it chops off the edge of the logo. Like maybe the last .25 inches.
I don't know much about InDesign and I am confuuuuuused! Any one know whats going on?
Help!

Just try dragging out the bounding box. If that doesn't work, try the filthy kludge of whacking a big invisible rectangle behind your logo in illustrator. That should give the eps a bit of blank space around your image.

The dragging thing doesnt work. Let me try the rectangle idea.

Danski you are a freaking genius!! Thanks much!!

there is several things to do:
white arrow is your illu, black s your frame. The illu. is behind the frame, maybe it is just not in the middle, becaus of Danski´s comment.
also remmber the "fit to content" option, but carefull there.

Eh, it's what I do.

Am having a little issue with InDesign CS5 and was wondering if anyone has a solution...
I create a print document and place a PSD file onto the page and save it. Now every time I open the file, it asks me to update the image, even if I have not made any edits to the linked PSD. Even if I update it again and save... when I reopen it asks me to update the image again. It does not seem to happen with TIFFs/EPS/JPEGS etc. Only PSD files.
We do work off our server, but I have been doing this for over a year with no issues linking until now.
Any ideas what the issue is, or has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks...
- shouldn't happen... try saving a new PSD and placing againmonospaced

try printing and see if the logo is actually getting cut off or its just a preview thing.

I get the same thing, bobkat. Not working directly off a server, but from a local repository of SVN controlled files. I just live with it, tbh...

Are you sure it's an EPS, and not a .ai with "eps" manually typed in the file name? Artwork in .ai files that extends beyond the edge of the Illustrator art board will be cropped off in InDesign. A true EPS doesn't have this problem, InDesign recognizes everything in the file as valid and will throw the bounding box around it all.
- different problem, that issue was solved in the first postmonospaced
- but while we're on the subject, Import with Options provides several more variables.monospaced
