Client keeps telling me he wants the lettering to be "harder" than it iis now... he try to explain but I have no FCking clue what hes talking about.
The guy has a long background in graffiti, so Im guessing it has to do with a writing style?
Anyone shed any light on this?
What are hard letters? what would be an example of a font with this.. if not a font, what type of look and feel do the letters have so I can draw em out.
this is probably a stupid question, but thanks for any input!

C'mon, where is the love? :)

my guess is that he's talking about letters with more angles than curves.

Maybe he means this....
"Don't use hard returns to break lines within paragraphs: Always use soft returns (shift-return) instead. This ensures that when you use the "space before" or "space after" attributes, paragraphs won't break in unexpected places."Got this quote from here...ma be helpful?

OH MAN, iM DOOMED

I don't think hard and soft returns have anything to do with "hard letters"...
My guess is he wants a "hard" feeling... Hard edges, massive letters etc.

Yeah it sounds like he's only got a vague idea what he's after, but he's passing it on to you.
Maybe a kind of ominous, chiselled look, like the text on a grave. Hard. High contrast maybe? Only blacks and whites. Who knows? If worst comes to worst, ask him exactly what he means, and don't accept "you know, like, harder" as an answer.

use fonts like Impact :)

Thing is, the guy is this huge, biggie smalls type. Hes really cool, but when he talks, it just sounds like bass and no treble and the only thing you can make out is "ya head? holla back." at the end of whatever he says.
One time I said "huh?" like three times in a row and he started to look confused and pissed, so Id rather try to find out on my own at this point.

Haha! I was actually gonna use Impact as an example in my last post...
But I didn't because noone should use Impact. Impact is evil and deserves to die.

can you not show him some sites or books and ask him to point out what sort of style of font he is after?
