I got a mac recently, so I'm still getting used to it. I have a couple of easy questions.
First, why doesn't safari remember things I entered in text fields? I see IE has something in the preferences for that, I guess it's just safari huh?
And, none of media players will play a VCD I have... not even windows media player for os x. What do you use? VCD aren't platform spefic are they?

you can play vcd's in quicktime you just have to open up the cd and find the movie file.
Or you can get a patch that you quicktime folder that will allow you to play vcd normally. You can do it though, and update your safari because it does remember text fields.

Safari is still in beta... that functionality was rumored to be in soon. for now, just go to the history menu.
as for VCDs, they're just mpeg files... It is possible to play them, just that you need a program to recognizes them. I can't think of one that can right now...checkout http://www.versiontracker.com/

yeah, my safari doesn't remember... I have 1.0 Beta (v60) .. that's the latest isn't it?
Both quicktime and windows media player give me errors when I try open that vcd... it's a .dat file I try to open...
You know what I miss though, is the google toolbar. I was happy that safari has the search field... but when you get the google toolbar on a pc you get other cool stuff. Your search terms become buttons on the toolbar, you can press them to highlight those words on the page. Then you get a site heirarchy dropdown to go up to the root of the domain you're in.. that sort of thing is nice...

v60 is the latest public. I think internally they're up to v65 or v68. They've added alot since 60, like tabbed browsing.
version tracker has a vcd player at
