Movie Interfaces always drive me crazy. You know -- the windows with the giant text explaining what the computer is doing in the latest MI, Bond, whatever film ... "SEARCHING DATABASE!", "YOU'VE GOT MAIL!", "DOWNLOADING!", "ACCESS DENIED!". The new film "The Recruit" however seems to be making headway -- they actually feature some pretty real looking C code! sprintf("") and all. They still could do better of course. Check it out, it's a decent flick.

i enjoyed Antitrust for the same reason despite its lack of talent from the old WB crew and its thin plot. Although the code shown on the screen wasn't ever in context with what the actors were referencing it as, it was a nice alternative to the cartoonish interfaces we saw in 'Hackers'.

Yes, I saw The Recuirt last night, the screens where not up to much!
This guy does this stuff best - http://www.teknoel.com/

What we need is the hardcore green text interface that Matthew Broderick used in War Games. Not that I've seen it in the last 10 years.... J.o.s.h.u.a.

watch ghost in the shell, they show some C in there on a blk/grn monochrome display

well, obviously things need to beep and bing and all these 3d models of whatever need to spin and twirl and enlarge, just like real computers!
or so hollywood thinks......
i guess real code on the screen is too 'boring'.

I like when they fly down multicolored tubes like in Weird Science.

I like when they wear bras on their heads.

the worst is that show CSI, my girl loves it... every time they use one of thoes "computer programs" on the 12 foot touch screen to help them solve a crime, i just want to throw my shoe at the TV.
