I've done the whole college / uni thing, got all qualifications I need and Ive been working at the same place for over 2yrs. Yet Ive never felt truly settled and Im considering using my savings and taking a year out. What do you reckon? Have ever quit your job and done it? Any advice would be truly appreciated...
thanks

Getting back to a good job could be tough these days, with the tough business-climate and all.
But hell yeah, one year of bending around would be so sweet.

Make sure you got a planf or the year out..travel, etc...rather than just spending a year in front of your playstation.

do it now. see the world. it gets harder to do things like that as you get older and are more set up.

And read too. Its great lobbing up to places without knowing anything. But at the same time, reading some good novels about the places you are going to visit is excellent.
My personal Fav is "a moveable feast" by Hemmingway. Read that and go to Paris.Infact, fuck the rest of the world..just spend a year in Paris with that book.

If this war wasn't going on, I'd recommend joining the Peace Corp.
It's tough to find another design job after one year or so of unemployment, but I'd think having an experience like the PEace Corp would be a major asset.

Definitely travel. you will learn more about where you come from.
And of course you will still be able to get a job when you get back. What so you take a year out and are unemployed ever after? pfft.
And good advice about reading up on a place to give you a background.
Where have you been before and what did you like / dislike?
- unknown0
Wanna cough alot, get lost in millions of people and sweat your but of; head east
In other words; DON´T
Do you want extreem skiing or relaxed bookreading?
In any case go to New Zealand
