I know. You're saying, what?
I had and excellent meeting with the client today. Redesigning their menu and restaurant P.O.P.
Got a free lunch out of it and smiles from across the table.
Late hours and stressful deadlines all seem to melt away when the reaction to your design comes in the form of a simple and honest smile.
Of course, when she brings the design back to her higher ups, they will probably shoot it full of holes. But for now, good vibes.
Share your "good" client stories if you want. Just thought I would share mine.

I have around 5 more pages to finish on a design that the client said: "Just make it look good, we trust you guys"
So far, it does, they like it, and there have been no changes since day one.
Good client.

It's rare. But it does happen. The old cliche that "the client will end up picking the one you like the least" is sometimes true.
But when they pick the look you were pushing for, it just feels good.
Of course they will change something. No design can be left untouched by most clients. They wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't. :-)

Let's say you work with an adult entertainment oriented site. Now how would a good, satisfied client show their appreciation?

I have this client that goes well you can do what ever you want that's the best way to work isn't it?

every time they say "surprise us", happens once or twice a year, tops.
Although every time they *don't* say, "we want it just like thisandthat.com" is a good starting point.

Have several clients who trust me to wax out work with out approvals, and I love all of them. I have some others who die if they don't get to approve something every four minutes though, so I guess it balances out.
