Thanks guys. It is true. I think its important for designers and artists to be like a sponge, absorb their environment and interpret..however, when one is a sensitive sponge (as all but one in this thread are!) it gets harder to keep perspective when the world is this chaotic.
Also, I'm not talking about ordinary creative block. I think that's something else altogether.

This is a great book. Good reading material and a handy source of reference for those wishing to try an tie together politics and design (in light of the current situations at hand).

turn off the tv.
walk outside.
try to listen to some old 80's music....
i find stuff by Hall and Oates works pretty good..
like 'your kiss is on my list'...pure pop greatness...take a long walk, listening to as much old pop music as you can stand..
stroll through town.
if it's warm out where you are, get an icecream.
if it's cold, get a coffee or a hot chocolate..by somthing stupid.
a stuffed animal, somthing at a yard sale, whatever...
and give it away...to a niece, a nephew...some one on the street..doesn't matter..just give it away...try and remember this.
go back a few years..
go back a few decades...back to when the world wasn't so damn connected.
there was bad bad bad stuff going on even then...but since we were all so out of touch, most of us didn't know...try to realize, that allthough CNN can put the war in your living room 24/7, it's up to you if you watch it or not..
what if they threw a war..and nobody came?
no one watched..????
stop watching it ....
decide to live war free for awhile..
does wonders for the spirit.
(and thats not to say i live in some bliss free environment, with sugar walls, and go lalalala i can't hear you war, you don't exist...but wow..enoughs enough..
let it go for a week...
spend some time drawing or painting something from the heart..and just see where the spirit takes you..
and last but not least...
don't listen to jackoffs like D1e (ya man...i'm talking to you!)
there's enough crappiness going on in the world without you bringing your elitist views here...

Hush, hush Mr. Mail Man before the town poodle pisses your dear leg.
