Anyone out there have the skinny on this city? What's the creative job market like? What's it like to live there? Expensive? Cold? Wet? Also, is it complicated for an American to get work in Canada?

Hey..I posted about this last week...you should do a quick search on PV-AN if ya want more info. I am a former Vancouverite so I'll give ya some info.
Cold: Where are you from? Definitely the warmest place in Canada. Doesn't snow much at all...rains quite a bit in the winter...but it's better than -45 temps.
Expensive: Meh...it can be, I suppose. Just eat ricecakes.
Not too sure about your last question though...I'm no "visa working different country design yes or no" guy so I can't help you out.

My sister lives there and she loves it! easy to get work and quite cheap to live if you live slightly ouside Van. Theyve got giant octopusses there too.
I would'nt go there tho, they all say "Totally" far too much!

yeah but oou are talking freelance. there are lots of little jobs around like that if you can find them.
full-time jobs are rare though.
