thanks guys, i'm just hurt and at the same time, rivited by this war-it's hard to tell who's speaking the truth in the media, so these blogs help to provide a different/intelligent perspective... this is war is becoming more like david and goliath...

Anyone know if dear raed will be updating again?
The last post I saw was monday.
Just hoping its the internet connection thats dead and not him.
It was interesting to get the point of view of a real person. Not a journalist or politician.

How does one differentiate an Iraqi blog, from say an American blog who gets information from several sources and acts like they are in Iraq?
Just asking in case someone asks me that.

There was a lot of debate on that. As far as the dear raed blog goes. They do know where the blog is posted from and it did appear that his was coming from that area. And he seemed to know a lot of details about the area and what was going on. Some people said the whole thing might have been a CIA ploy. It seemed pretty real to me. He seemed to just report what was going on.

has anyone actually watched Al Jazeera via the Dutch mirror site?
Some guy on Slate did an expose on how to IP spoof the Dutch servers to allow US based viewing..

and iraq blog originates from someone in iraq like dear_raed, he has been the only one to keep a blog in english coming out of iraq, but he has not been keeping a journal since monday, i might assume he's been stopped in some manner... according to many, his personal reports have been quite accurate over the past year, and once the US/UK forces knocks out TV there for good, we might never know what is honestly going on there, because Western media is so afraid right now to criticize the West...
