I want to do freelance work. I don't know the first thing about getting clients. I'd like to get some big name gigs. Do you just cold call the companies? Do you go through some kind of agency? If so, how does that work? Thank you.

i read a while back that coldcalls were the best method for getting gigs.
i hate cold calling, but i do agree. it has proven to be better than anything else ive tried. id recommend start calling some small businesses until you get familiar with the process. then hit up the big cats.
