I've been working at my current job (in-house design & development) for 3 years. The job conditions are ok but not spectacular, and the travel is a pain in the arse. But I have good friends here.
I'm going to a job interview on thursday that I'm confident will be successful. The new job is like three blocks away from my house, only a slight salary cut (offset by travel anyway), and doing album cover design. The problem? I'm not religious at all, and this record company puts out (among a lot of other genres) a lot of worship albums. Somehow this makes me feel uneasy, but I'm told that the design can still be cutting-edge.
This new job will give me loads more time to concentrate on art projects and freelance jobs of my own, but the religious aspect makes me twitchy. Any thoughts appreciated. Gimme some of that old-time NT advice.

if the religious aspects of the work doesn't encroach on any of your own beliefs then i'd just view it as a defined target audience

Fair point. I think I'm going to go for it, I'm just not sure how to justify it to myself.
The human condition, eh?

If you can make the same pay, have the same creative freedom and wind up with more time for personal exploration at the new job, without taking any cut in pay... i'd definitely say go with the new job.

You're all right, I guess it's just me being too much of a pillock to take the responsibility of making the decision myself.
Cheers for the advice. I'm gonna go get some chinese food for lunch. Oh yes.
