This is amazing navigation. Any ideas on what the actionscript behind something like this would look like?

hmmm... the nav don't work at all here... :/
- schjetne0
I never actually got the site up... Kept loading and loading and loading and loading. And then I gave up, and closed the window.

I'm not sure if I'm seeing it properly.
Just looks like normal buttons to me, except for some broken mouse tralier that looks like an > and doesn't do much except appear or disappear.
Damn and you got my hopes up with the thread title and the download wait!
- Danski0
I waited and waited and waited, and then saw why it was worth waiting that long.
Fuckin' awesome, and no word of a lie.

choke! HOW did they make a painfully slow loading site with a broken nav????
- schjetne0
The nav isn't broken. I finally got the whole thing loaded, took about a century, and what I saw was cool. But the actionscript behind it shouldn't be to difficult to copy. Just simply trace the mouse position and go to a specific frame in a movie clip depending on where the cursor's at...

ok mine's working now, although kinda broken. Lovely idea and almost fantastic execution. Just need to make it work for everyone and maybe check some usability issues.
I think they have shot video in a panning motion and laid it out frame by frame in an mc. Then moved the frame number back and forth according to _xmouse.

it's not broke, you just have to play with it for a sec.
when you figure it out, you'll understand.

doesnt work for me either. oh well.
- geeque0
monster load but wicked site. nice find.

i loaded it fully...then tried everything my mouse was capable of...if it does not work then; it IS broken, or completely unusable for other non-geeks.
my 2c.
(i'll try again)
- mitsu0
yeah, you're cheating yourself if you don't give it a chance to load and then learn the navigation.
very creative.

Well, the navigation isn't that impressive to me (finally loaded) but I do like the use of video depending on mouse X.
- 8dot30
it loads 100%, does the text animation then sits there. my mouse has << atached to it, but it doesnt do a thing.
- vespa0
yea I agree cell7dotORG.
The nav itself is just straight buttons.
- mrming0
I've been waiting about 5 mins now (on dial up) and I'm at 36% loaded. I'll let you know what I think if I don't die of old age first!

finally found it out...
you have to move yer mouse all kinds of ways to get things going..
yes it's very creative, and I liked it.
but
I'd still wonder if other audience finds out the whole nav thing just as easy.
- schjetne0
Seriously, a site that takes over 3 000 years to load is broken in my eyes, no matter how nice the navigation is...
I would never have waited for that if the initial post didn't talk about how amazing it was.
They should probably consider swirching servers, and cut down on the amount of frames in their navigation...
- ********0
its interesting. and looks pretty slick.
all that happens is that a movie steps along frames as you move your mouse right to left, or left to right.
- schjetne0
Hehe, how exactly do you swirch servers? Damn my dyslexia.
