dont mind me though. i am totally buggin out over here, but the farther you go in either direction, the more conformity and dogma you find...sickening in either case.

extreme right wings or extreme conservatists are your average Texan rangers, who would personally execute anyone he deems unpatriotic.

extreme left wings or extreme liberals are your suicide bombers who would do anything to destroy governments and fight for anarchy freedom.

both are not exactly favorable, so technically the middle road is prefered. We don't want to be extreme.

sapphire, i was being sarcastic about lawyers and politicians. I just thought it was funny that you asked whether we should believe everything a lawyer says just because he has degrees. I thought the rhetorical question/comparison was actually unnecessary because we're talking about politicians who have even worse reputations for lying than lawyers do.

    badzenjt...

left or right issues hardly have to do with being smart or stupid. They have to do with your world view, and many times, your world view is consistent in many areas of your life.

Take abortion for instance. That's pretty polarizing.

the right is against it. The left is for it. Or at least not against it.

are you stupid or smart for leaning towards one side on it? Of course not. It has to do with your world view, with your environment, with how you were raised, and with your personality.

I don't think you can be middle of the road on some issues. However, I agree with you on the fact that you can go left on one thing and right on another. And to be honest, I do find horrible inconsistencies in some things that are cataloged as right only or left only. For example, why is it that abortion which is such a touchy issue, is so opposed by people who think "life is precious" but yet, these same people are the ones that are less likely to be vegetarian or against guns or against war.
I mean, you either think life is precious or you don't...
Why is it that people who would die for their right to have a gun, are the first ones to oppose rights for others who are different? For example rights for gays, or rights to choose an abortion or rights for minorities?

Really, it doens't make sense. You either support personal freedoms or you don't...

Unfortunately, I think it mostly comes down to selfishness and supporting what is good for ourselves at the right time.

its okay, i was directing my response to Cindy Osborne's message. i just dont believe that comparing people's degrees should justify their decision as right or wrong.
