7th april, cant wait.
I wanna see the island. Culture, art, people etc. I'm told that it has a lot of this, once you get away from the touristy parts.
Any ideas on hotels, interesting places? better still anyone live there?

Nothing specific, but I went there with my gf years ago, rented a lovely little Fiat Barchetta yellow convertible and spent he entire day drive up the coast. It was spectacular - one of the most beautiful places I've seen in Europe. There is a highway the cuts through the mountain and will take you back to the city.
My only regret is that they didn't have the Mercedes SLK ready for rental yet. Cost me about $30 bucks for the day for the car, and about $30 bucks for gas (and I can see why our economy would collapse if we had to pay those prices, sad as it is). Oh, but I had to put a $2500 deductible because I was under 24.
Enjoy. It's as close to perfection as I've been (Capri is pretty sweet, too).
