    Hi.

Can I embed fonts in QuarkXpress 5.0? If not, will I really have to attach them when I hand my work over to the printer?

I scanned in an illustration I did into photoshop. 300dpi because I want it to print properly. I then view it in PRINT SIZE and resize it so it fits my wish. When I import the .gif in Quark it shows the big version (actual pixels, 100%). What does Quark do? Print exactly as it is on screen?

Hope you understand. It's been a while since I used computers.

You can't embed fonts into a Quark document. Only thing you can do is either include them as you say, or use an application like ADS to embed thew fonts into a Quark EPS. Watch out though, it came out years ago and cost about £3000 then.

Not sure why your illustration isn't printing properly. A word of advice though: if you're going to use a scan for print, save it as a CMYK 300dpi TIFF, that's the most widely used format.
