shellie....
wow... you have no luck with any agency ehh?
You have pretty good work. Why do you think these people don't accept you?

where are you guys located? Which offices did you go to?
- shellie0
well im not being too proactive. i never really followed up because im not extremely hard up for work. i just want to get some more saved for my house.
if i called and emailed maybe theyd give me an actual answer to get me off their backs.
they probably dont have enough work for the peopel they already have working for them. although im just looking for projects, not fulltime work.
its also my actual lack of experience. i've been making websites for about 2 1/2 years but i've only been making good ones for the last 1 1/2 years.

shellie, you have an impressive cliental...how do you do it?

sometimes it's not about your work. THey ususally go through your resume and look for different skill sets to see if they can sell you on that.
A lot of time they already have designers with a simliar skill sets as you, so they won't take you on.

I signed up with TCG. I call it The Clown Group. They're pretty much a joke. Nobody I know has ever gotten work through them. (I don't know how they make any money. They must be on venture capital or something). Their staff is a bunch of knobs that don't know the industry or anything about design.
There were a few empty promises for very good jobs.If you're in L.A. I recommend Creative Oxygen. They're good and they know the business. Aquent worked for a friend of mine, but never called me. I guess I wasn't good enough for them.

chilaquil, email me about the Creative Oxygen people.
I need some work. Thanks

Had to share this story about The Creative Group here in Seattle. I apply with them, the call me in for an interview, make all sorts of promises, I never hear another thing from them. Meanwhile, they call my references, but instead of asking about me, they start relentlessly hitting them up for business. SLEAZY!

story why dont you just go to the website
i just applied. we'll see how long it takes for them to get back.
- chilaquil0
billy...
that IS sleazy...
hey, here's the link for creative oxygen:
I've gotten quite a few well paid gigs through them. Obvioulsly there isn't enough to keep you busy ALL the time. You got to look for stuff on your own, or with other agencies, but in my experience they were the most professional. They also do some work in Orange County, though not much. They're really picky about the people they let in though.

thanks for the link, i guessed i typed it in wrong

Ummm...
maybe I should've mentioned, they will only take you if you're freelancing full time. Otherwise they can't be sure that you'll be available when they call you. So if you got a job right now (not freelancing) they won't be too interested no matter how good you are.
