Well Roppongi is where most of the expats and foreigners go to party. There are tons of clubs there so just follow crowds and you'll find fun.
Shibuya, just south of Tokyo has got really nice clubs, out of the subway you should be facing a f*@cked up intersection with a Starbucks on the far side. Head left and then bear left at the Y in the road and there are the clubs.
My favorite is Shinjiku and if you are looking for excitement, Kabukicho to the east of Shinjiku, right near the clubs in Shinjiku, is this enormous Yakuza run red light district.
Shopping in Ginza, just east of The Imperial Palace, is expensive unless of the window vareity but don't expect to use your atm card in many places and credit cards in restaurants aren't very helpful either.
Also check out Ueno Park, just north of Tokyo.
And look for homeless people balancing their checkbooks.
What're you looking to do their?

sorry man_trying to finish up some work_ thanks for taht info, my hotel is in shibuya so i should be real close to some of those spots.
I really want to hit up some shows and art exhibits and def. hit up those clubs. I also would like to know some good design links of companys out there that i can maybe visit.
the agfa thing_ resume is old and i put that there to make myself sound good! its just some proofing equipment i learned when i was doing production :)

Shibuya is really cool.
Most of the galleries in Tokyo are tiny little things that are hard to find. But there are some big galleries up in Ueno park. And if you get off the loop(you'll figure it out with one glimpse of the subway map) at Tokyo station there are a few.
As for design links I have no idea.
But my final words are Japan is an extrememly safe place so do not be intimidated by the language barrier. And the people are very helpful even if they don't really understand what you're saying. And the subway system is cake, much easier than NYC, Boston, or DC.
That Agfa thing is because I work for Agfa in their medical digital imaging department(yeah not a designer but a computer dork)
Have fun and stay away from American Sailors/Marines that's where the trouble is.

I'll tell you what to do: go straight to those bad-ass massage parlors baby and get some nice Asian ja-ja.

you could visit my aunt and uncle there. He is there putting together a flight simulator.
