hey all,
just wanna see what the best concerts that people have ever been to were.
1. Sigur Ros-State theatre, minneapolis... awesome mood, video, etc... blown away
2. Sigur Ros again @ the womens club theatre in minneapolis.. great acoustics, small audience.
3. Jimmy Eat World-first ave, Minneapolis... after all the hype from bleed american died down and they started playing stuff off of clarity again
4. jimmy eat world (see a trend here?) right after sept 11... quiet show, they played their hearts out, but didn't say a word the whole show.
5. Bela Fleck @ the Big top tent thing in Bayfield wi... big red tent on a skihill on the side of lake superior.. fun times.anyone else?

pj harvey-philly, 2001: two days before 9/11...awesome show, but in retrospect, bizarre remembering her singing songs like "kamikaze" and lyrics like "this worlds crazy, give me a gun"

Here's a few that stand out:
Tool - 92, 93, 96 (greatest show ever....maynard was blue), 97, 98, 01, 02
Pink Floyd - 94
Mr Bungle - 99
Faith No More - 97
NIN - 95 great visual, big screen
Portishead - 97
Clutch - 93, 01, 02
Slayer - 88
Sepultura - 93, 95, 96, 98, 01
Pantera - 90 (this is my fave cuz phil asked the crowd to throw get on stage an we tore the place up. I was on the drumriser for most of the show)......the next 10 times I saw these guys they sucked because phil lost his voice to cigarettes, wiskey and heroin. too bad..they were the best.
that is all for now...

If you like Bela Fleck live, then you need to see Ricky Skaggs live! Those boys are damn tight and can really play. Now I know some of you Newstoday folks aren't big bluegrass fans, but that's one performer you've got to see live.
Oh, and The Derailers. Those guys rock! Their website

Yeah! I'd give anything to see a Mike Patton band like.....bungle or FNM.
Radiohead, too.

I, too, am envious of the Bungle concert-goer. I'd LOVE to see those guys live sometime.
I saw Duran Duran and The Cure in Chicago about 5 years back, which was an excellent show.
Primus was also very good, the four or five times I've seen them.
But perhaps the best show I've ever been to was a local band that split up before they really made it big, named Catharsis and the Humdrum. They played with another relatively obscure band, Velour 100, in a coffee shop. Great atmosphere, great show.
