Anyone know of a way to create a popup for a site that over-rides those popup blocker software?
I'm working on a site that needs to have a window popup for some of the functionality to work.

I don't know of any, but I'm sure they're out there...
Aren't you going to piss people off with that sort of functionality? Especially if it overrides their blocking software?

you can try putting on the front page if they want this webpage to work correctly they have to turn off any pop up blocking software they may have running.
i have a pop up blocker on my PC for a reason. i dont like pop ups.

pop-up blockers don't block pop-ups where you click on something to make it popup... (or they shouldnt)
so just get the users to click on a widget to popup the window..
there's a big difference between unwanted popups and 'wanted' popups... people seem to be forgetting this...

The popup blockers do prevent regular onClick popup windows... you have to press keyboard shortcuts to over-ride it.
SO if there is a solution out there they should call it "popup blocker blocker" :)

yeah, most of th pop-up blocker software i've used doesn't allow for onClick pop-ups. To be honest I hate pop-ups whether they're spam or actually part of the site. It's ok if it's a flash website where you have to open up a seperate window for the flash part though.

The Safari blocker does it properly... it allows on-click popups.
On-click popups can be good... example:
