When I play a DVD Movie on my PS2, sometimes if there is an abrupt cut between scenes I get some picture distortion for an instant. Kind of looks like watching payperview unscrambled.
Anybody else experience this?

my xbox does that sometimes too. just clean the DVD with a clean and soft textured papertowel or something. nothin rough that would scratch the surface.

phone up sony tech support, they'll issue you with a new PS2 (v2 i think), a friend did that and he got a new one.

My experience is that the sound gets out of sync after watching for about 45 minutes.

Updated the drivers on your ps2 by buying the Sony Brand PS2 DVD remote.

the update didn't fix mine. it doesn't bother me that much. my friend had one of the first run PS2's. it was a piece of shit when it came to DVD's. he ebay'd it.

It's weird, I hear people talk so much junk about first issue ps2s. and I've never had any problems what so ever with mine. It's acttually been nothing but perfect...

come on guys..they would be stupid to sell a fully working dvd player all-in-one with a playing console working perfectly..
who'd buy a dvd player then??
- safe0
It's not fully functional out the box, to keep the cost down they included the dvd codecs on the memory cards.
Cheaper unit price on liscenes.

safe, what do you mean? does it have to be a sony memory card to load the codecs? i must have missed that part of the manual. just curious because my card is not a sony card.
