i was wondering how many of you actually begin the design process with storyboards? i have never been a big fan of them, i usually just open up pshop or illustrator and go...
maybe i dont like them because i am not much of a traditional artist, but i am wondering if they really help or are they just an extra step that can be avoided... or maybe if i did start using them, my work would turn out better.
react.

I sub contract flash work for a web developer and he always storyboards everything. I think that if one person is trying to convey how they want a site to look to another designer, storyboards are necessary. If you are building the sites from ground up, and the client has given you that much control to not use storyboards, it may be a waste of your time.

depends on your project; but I ALWAYS do storyboards; even if it is to get the client to approve SOMETHING before I sit down and toil away at something he might change his mind about later.
Heh, i even did my thesis about it.
