I'm in need of some help. I've been dying to get a digital voice recorder for various reasons and am wondering if any of you use or know anything about them. I've been looking at this.
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cp…I want something that will record in exceptional quality. I want to be able to use some of the recording for samples in tracks and for things that may need to be fairly high quality. I'd buy a DAT if I could get it to fit in my shirt pocket and it didn't cost so much. A lot of the tracks I make are very noisy anyway but I dont want to have to edit everything I bring in off of this thing because it can't record worth a crap.
Oh and I can't find any stores that will actually spend the time to put the files on a computer and show you what the quality is like. All they do is play it back on the crappy recorder speaker which sucks in the first place.
sorry for the long post.
please help.

never seen it before, but it actually looks like a decent buy.
$250.00 for brand new...
i'm sure you could find one on ebay for cheaper though.

SONY DAT's are very nice we have one, I record strange sounds and remix them in songs and loops

know of any slim light weight DAT's with some of the cooler options that these digital voice recorders have?
maybe i could just bite the bullet and put out for a DAT because above all I want high quality sound.

nothing else?
I like the smartMedia idea just because I may take a trip to South America and uploading all of my recording may be near impossible and a definite pain in the arse.
unfortunately I would want to be able to move, rewrite, addon to my files and I cant fine and all in one recorder, if anyone has any experiences with these things I'd love to hear about it.
