i've been thinking about getting setup on a silk screen press. my question is what should I expect to pay? I want to just have something small, that i can easily print 1-2 color shirts on... nothing really high production, probably just use it for shirts for the website and/or make shirts for friends. looked around ebay and there are a variety of things ranging from 80$ to 4,000$. Figured someone in here has to have the kind of setup im talking about. thanks in advance

i just recently bought a 4 color press with 2 platforms for printing on for $450. shipping was $75, that's without screens, squeeges, inks, emulsion, lightbox, etc.
oh, and you would need a flash dryer which i've seen for like $275 on ebay.

thats kinda junk
a hobbiest kit which you would not be able to get much use from
If you can find someone or a place to burn your screens - a one color t shirt press is simple to make with some wood and screen hingesI made one if you want to check it out email me and ill send you pics tonight

yeah those kits look shady. if you're doing one color just burn a screen at a local college and then print in your kitchen. thats what i used to do. two color will get harder to register without some clamps.

one more question here... how long would a screen typically last? I know that eventually you'd have to have some re-made, just wondering what the average life of one would be. 1000 prints? thanks
