well its that time of year...this is my first one, as a web designer, and this is my first real job since graduating college...so what can i expect, as a first year employee?..what should i know going in?..questions i will be asked?..what kind of additional vacation and salary increase should i expect?..please post your experieces....

expect cost of living as a raise unless you are doing a fantastic job. unfortunately, this economy won't bring big raises. you may also get another week of vacation per year (i went from one to two weeks per year after my first year). other than that there is nothing to be prepared for. you will be evaluated on your performance.

Well, it may be a too late now, but for future reference, try to document all of your contributions throughout the year. Come review time you can make the best case for yourself and have the evidence to prove it. It's easier if you document as you go, rather than wait til the end, otherwise you forget. Include everything of value (times you stayed late, client kudos, etc). Euphemize and embellish, and convince them that you deserve a raise.
