There was a thread a while back where someone posted a solution to use iframes in Netscape . Does anyone remember?

i dunno about a solution, i'd just write a script that redirected them to the netscape upgrade page

dont even mess with it.. its not worth it...
either Ignore Netscape 4 users.. (like I do and So does this site) and say screw you and upgrade your browser.....or make a redirect page

netscape does not support iframes. it supports layers and divs. the only method i have come up with in regards to this problem is to make a php script that prints one code when netscape < 5 and another code for all the rest. this, however, is a real pain in the a*s solution. so, i vote for dumping iframes or dumping ns 4.7. the second solution is preferable since you have to make people upgrade somehow.
look at k10k with netscape for example. the result you get is only the news box with an url http://www.k10k.net/evilbrowser
and they are absolutely right...

Yeah I agree with making people upgrade as well. Im just curious because Im at work thinking about a corporate site. I didnt know if it was an easy fix. Id still be curious to know if anyone knows. I think it might be the div/layer idea that was just mentioned.

Standard frames are supported by NS 4, or you could try a javascript scroller such as this one: http://www.youngpup.net/
