ImageReady is needlessly adding a spacer.gif. It prevents me from aligning the page to the top of the browser. I don't know how to make it stop. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Am I insane? Or merely naked and fearless? Please help? Please?

the way image ready builds out pages when you have it save images and html is crap. i would just advise not to use that feature and save the images and use dreamweaver to create the actual html

try to make your slices by using guides and converting to slices.

Or its as easy as getting rid of the extra tables it creates in which it sticks those images. It's very easy, First you chop away in Fireworks, Try to keep everything Square. Then when you import into DWMX you can justhighlight the extra tables it creates & delete them. I do it all the time and it only takes a few extra sec's if you know what you are doing. Sometimes if your slices are complicated, its the only way your page will display properly so leave them in. Try keeping you slices lined up in squares though.

Hmmm.. I'm not using Fireworks, so that's a problem.. I already do the guides to slices command to generate the slices.. There must be some way of preventing a truely annoying thing like this from happening.. I feel like a total rookie and I've been doing this a while.. Grrrr..

Yeah, I already tried that too, thanks.. Keep them coming.. Part of the problem is that I can't just delete the spacer.gif's because it totally screws up the tables.. I made the vertical height of the spacer.gif's=0 and it totally pissed Dreamweaver off but worked fine in a browser.. WTF? I mean, that solution WORKS, but isn't there a GOOD solution to this problem?

Select FILE - OUTPUT SETTINGS. Select SLICES from the dropdown. Change SPACER CELLS.

BTW, you can also turn off the 1-pixel spacer option in Fireworks by selecting OPTIONS on from the Export dialog.
