i see alot of this design elements ..
how i did it is i do it on paper (wuth spray can adn stuff) and scan it in..
how you guys do it on PS?
i can seem to figure it out..

Load all the brushes in Photoshop. Some of them look like you used a paint roller and some can make it look really distressed. A wacom tablet is key I guess. You really need pressure sensitivity.
There are also many bitmaps you can use as displacement maps or textures or just to mask your text over.
So many ways :)

Do some filter madness, combine different texture filters and pattern layer effects.
It will never look quite like the real thing though. You might just have to get your hands dirty.

i created my own brushes by taking pictures I toook of dirt on the wall and blowing out the Threshhold. then I use the marquee to define a small area as a brush then use that brush in my design. I also used some brushes from Recife at http://www.misprintedtype.com

good use of filters such as poster-edges and spatter etc... and a lot of layers (overlay, screen, darken etc...)..
experimentation is vital!
