I was watching the history channel this morning and there was a program on about the civil rights movement. I started thinking how lucky i am as a African American woman to be able to do what i do and be treated (for the most part) as an equal. Living in Los Angeles I feel so far removed from what part of history (I've been to the south once on the way to Disney World). People died so that I can sit in my office and create. I feel kinda guilty now because I often complain that what I have isn't enough.
