just downloaded the Japanese version, is it any good? better than the U.S. version?

Have to agree with Sapphire there! Its a lot better! I've seen the two follow ups - The Ring 2 & Ring 0 and they are pretty good too. I recommend the Japanese version!

There's a trilogy

omg, dont even get started on the follow ups, there's MORE than just a trilogy,
The Ring in japan came out with an entire Television Series, which was followed with a comic/manga series, and then the Korean tossed in a version of their own called "The Ring: Virus".
Case in point, the first ring movie (Ringu) will never be beaten by any forms of followups. not even it's own trilogy.

its pretty obvious, no matter how good a story is, when you squeeze it dry with this much media franchise, its bound to run stale.

I never new that they made a tv series! I like the trilogy but I think that the tv series is too far.

btw, i though the US version was really good, but got confused about the well. surely the well that she was in wasn't the same as the well under the cabin. didn't she go down a well on the island? the cabin was on the mainland on top of a mountain.
or am i bloody stupid?

dark water is so good! ring is so popular i'm sure it will be released here soon.
i saw it at a film festival in a double bill straight after the us ring (which i hated).i really wasn't sure about ring 0 though. i'm sure i saw a porn version of rinig in a rental shop in japan, but i'm not sure. i'll check it out.
Audition is great. very different to the directors other films though. his new film is out soon, a zombie musical!

Think I saw it in Edge (games mag), might have been a stage musical though.

I absolutely loved the RING! US version that it - so where can I guy download the Japanese?korean versions?
Also saw Audition, beautifully shot, sick ass ending (but I kind of liked it)

intoxicated - i got The Ring and The Ring 2 (japanese versions) from KazaaLite. both very, very good quality.
