come on..
caps?
Am I ever going to reach to be that anal if I work on the computer everyday?
It is par of the world we live in, but you need to unplug yourself, go out with friends (the real thing not the chatroom on Ichat), find a girl, talk to people, recreational sports, religion, whatever you are in to..come on people, you can't have sex with a computer..
well.. I might be wrong on that one.. but.. mhmm

We need manner, no matter on or off line.

this is a designforum, led by the QBN, i can't speak for it, as i am only providing a service for the QBN, but what i do know is:
the amount of people engaging in discussions/conversations in the PV-AN is a very, very small percentage of those who visit it.. most visit it for the links, sometimes (more often then you'd expect) possible clients or collaborators find designers/ideas etc, via this site... which is very valuable: both for the linked party as for the visitng party; it is therefore a good thing this site does not look like a mess, as we wouldn't want to loose any potential clients or collaborators or just friends for this reason.
Newstoday is a very popular site, for those reasons and also for the Public Voice!
go forth and replicate! :D

and since when caps is bad manners?
we are graphics desihners, we see it everyday.
What about underscores?
do they mean harrastment?I belive there is one on your nick..
lets not start here, I believe there in no existent regulation that categorize capital letters as offensive, for anybody.
prove me wrong, if you think so.

ALL CAPS roughly is the equivalent of me yelling at you during conversation.
knowbody likes that.

k0na said it well..
tho he made one spelling error, and he gets flagged for it..
:P

Lets not forget, that we as designers express ourselves through graphic design, sometimes, we change the size of the font, or the color, shape, etc
to make it stand out from the rest of the text on the composition.
Imagine, if soembody say that is offensive, and they put silvertape on your poster. that my friend is called sencorship, and I think that is 4000times worst than writing with cup.
Think twice when you say you dont want to loose people in the industry cause they are expressing themselves on a design portal.
you wouldnt wanto those clients or collaborators find out that people are being sensored just because they choose to write differently, do you?
just a thoughtpeace out

interesting thought, miklo!
but, you see, on most occasions it just looks like you are yelling. I'd suggest a small sign like _ or - wouldn't be too bad... as long as it don't become these terribly long arrows either.. like <----- it's a small box you know..
(name)abbrevations like AIGA, QBN etc. are fine ofcourse...

I still say that the "PV-AN is the least popular part of the site" can't be true. Especially considering well over half of the public broadcasts come from PV-AN regulars. Kill the PV-AN, kill the site... well maybe not kill it, but you'd see a huge decrease in traffic after awhile i'd bet
- enobrev0
i was thinking the same tfs. PBS may get a lot of traffic, but most of the posts I see there are from names I see quite often on this side fo the divider.
So the question is, how busy would it be over <--there without this pane?

i did not mean registered visitors.
I mean unregistered ones, the invisible audience, and let me tell you, there are a LOT of them!
so i was told. :)
