I think the kid was there, not the tank, or the landscape, so they photoshop the kid out, and add a tank and the landscape..
no, wait..

haaaaaaaaa cryptonite... pretty funny...
but yeah... judging from the light and shawdow I think it seems obvious the kid was actually there... you can also notice some thin repeated lines in front of the tank where there kid WAS...
however is a good question as to why they would just take him out... and what the hell is that rock!? haha
