does anyone know a good substitue for iframes? something that might work in more browsers, or at least older browser?

frames?
- calvinn0
no. iframes...or "in-line fames".

haha i think he was answering your question... normal frames would be the only other alternative i think

scrollabe layers that hide and unhide content when you click on buttons.. but the frame solution would be much easier.

regular frames won't work because of the design. and layers won't work either. sorry for the mix up.

dude, if an iframe can work for your design, a frameset can also work.

I wouldn't like to see NT using frames - well I would be interested.
- calvinn0
exactly...NT uses iframes...but if you try it on old browsers then its a no go.
- shellie0
thats why you cant
you can make very complicated framesets that work well on all browsers. i've done it tons of times. http://www.audioslave.com
nevermind the ugly splash page or the ugly layout for that matter.. but man thats one hellava frameset. works on netscape too.<3 frames.
i used to be all about iframes until i figured out how to make good framesets.

I would think about scrollable layers , but if your worried about old browsers... get over it and use the damn Iframes anyways.
The alternative is not giving a fuck!
- calvinn0

iframes are better than frames.
