how would you go about replicating the stencil effect in photoshop? tried a few brushes and they don't exactly do the job, noise filter is just pants too.
any help's appreciated

try making your slection of whatever its you want 'sprayed' then set your layer effect to dissolve and use the airbrush to spary in the colour.
make sure you get some over spray to give a more realistic feel.

get spray paint.
spray a circle shape onto paper or transparency.
scan it.
select it.
make it a brush.
most realistic looking solution i think.

use one of the nasty brushes with 'chalk buildup' selected. works really well. we did a stencil logo with it and it looks tight

Creon: are you using PS7? i don't see anything in regards to 'chalk buildup' in PS6?
