strange, I have the opposite problem... I have an all Mac network that I've added a PC to and I can get the PC hooked to the internet, and can print to my network printers, but I can can't figure out how to get the PC to connect to the Macs. One of my iMacs can see the PC in the chooser, but when I try to access files it gives me an error... What kind of device hooks you up to your DSL?

How do you have it set up?
I have a similar set up at my house, it's just 3 PCs and a Mac run through a Linksys hub.as long as your connected directly into the hub, and the hub is direct to the DSL line, you shouldn't have a problem...

I have a Linksys 10/100 DSL Router.
Im running on osx.
And I can see the pc, and get and place files from there, but pcs, ask for a password that I never set up. so pc's see me, but they cant access my mac

sorry, a little confused.. are you having trouble sharing with your PCs or getting out to the net, or both?

I can see the pc's on my mac, and I can access their files.
But they can see me, but cant access my files.
And I cant go online with my mac, but I can with any pc

Your LAN shouldnt really be 'Mac' or 'PC' (unless one of them is doing the serving) should it?
The router should deal out DHCP addresses, and the Windows and Mac clients should be able to see each other using the built in cross-platform sharing stuff...
What exactly happens when youtry to connect to the Mac?

pc is doing the serving.
when they want to get in my mac, they are asked for a password that Ive never set up.
When I want to go online it give me this message:
Server Not Found, could not open this page cause the server could not be found

so?

still dealing with this..
I need help please!!!!

you have to find out which computer/service is asking for the password... the dialog should have a title or something...
Are you using 'Windows File Sharing' on the Mac?
(plus I'm no expert...only setup my small office network with a DSL router, DHCP and Apple Personal File Sharing)
- unknown0
yes I did, windows file sharing is on..
but the main thing is I can't get on line..

does the router setup webpage show a list of the DHCP addresses it has given to the PCs and Mac?
or do you use another method to give the LAN computers access to the internet?
