Is anyone's business doing well? I work in Manhattan and the company (27) has hired 5 people in the last two months. We seem to be flourishing while everyone else is starving. Are any other agencies doing well right now? Give me some good news!!!

i actually did some investigating and see that your company deals primarily with the Rx industry. I think this will always be thriving, especially now when everyone is freaking out about terrorism and war in the US.
I have seriously been contemplating opening my own studio this summer but its just a matter of having clients lined up so I don't crash & burn.

dude that means nothing, there is SO much MONEY in the USA it is sick. Your company's execs might just be hooked in well with someone else. Look at it that way. Believe me, there are not many companies that are hiring at that rate.

We do mostly Rx stuff, but I'm not sure people buy more or less cancer medication or Viagra because of terrorism. I guess people buy medicine no matter what, but I would think less would be spent on advertising in harder times. I just want to hear someone else is doing well.

exactly!! RX shit man no kidding, HEALTH is HUGE in America, if you want to move to Pittsburgh you will find a job instantly with a Health Provider

I guess that would be a great tip to people looking for work now. Just think of something people spend money on no matter what...and then find out who does their ads/websites. It seems simple but sould have saved me a lot of energy job hunting.

sure it's true, Health is BIG, if you are a medical biller, you would make millions here, they cannot get enough of that software

My company down sized to three people a year and a half ago. Its just me and the two owners. Things haven't gotten worse but they haven't gotten necessarily better either. I'm hoping to start my own thing very soon.

my company is doing pretty well, we do ads and mail for a cable company... people are always gonna want their MTV (did i really just make a Dire Straits reference?!? ugghhh)

At the moment, things are going good in Montreal. The company where I work downsized from 110-something to 60 ppl last summer. We're now back up in numbers, I think a good solid 90 and hiring.
But then of course 90% of our clients are pharma.
