God you don't know how many people out there using this kind of oil painting for reference about colors composition and grid positioning?
- pagua0
how do you know that, ok-static?
- reluct0
ok_static. I do know that. And I am interested in arts. I just don't think this is the best resource site for it... I'm here for good design, not for average arts...

3. How is Newstoday different from other portals?
Same concept, different process. Where most design related portals generate 'native content' and publish this for visitors to view, Newstoday is based on public participation. The main 'traffic generator' is the Newstoday Broadcast (NTB) where well-known designers post interesting links and ideas......

13. How do you decide who is invited to become a 'Newstoday Broadcast Editor'?
Our Newstoday Broadcast Editors are people that we highly respect and that are highly respected by the genreal public; that inspire us and who we believe would Broadcast interesting sites, work and ideas.

Talk about mis-representing what I said...
Didn't you ever take a communication class? I said TEND to be well designed. I never said that site you showed in particular was well designed. For crying out fucking loud, it's a PUBLIC broadcast system. Anyone can post whatever the hell they want, so it's not like you can blame for the quality control. However, I *think* most people that post stuff *try* to be sensible about the design of *most* of the stuff they post. But I can't speak for everyone.
If you don't like them, don't click on them. You don't have to, really.

And the point is.. ok_static? The selection of editors is fine. I do not complain about that. Their view on design and of course their own work is very high standard. But my personal opinion is that the arts posts are sometimes a bit to much off topic. I'm here for their design knwowledge.
You don't have to agree with me. But maybe you can explain why it's "in fashion" at the moment.
- reluct0
Chilaquil. Be careful when you rant like that. You didn't read my post very well. I was talking about News Today broadcast not the public broadcast. And the link I posted was the reason I started this thread so your comment about well presented art was not very strong in this case.
When I click a link in the NT broadcast window I expect true quality and high standards in design or illustration or arts or whatever. And the arts posts dissapoint me quality wise.
- chilaquil0
Would you not complain if that link was in the PBS? Look, I don't care much for that link either. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. If Paul likes it, good for him.
I personally find the PBS posts more interesting in general. A lot of the NTB stuff I've seen somewhere else, or many times are plugs for friends or what not (I'm not criticizing the posters on NTB).
OK Static, I think is trying to point out by linking the FAQ, that the posters are under no responsibility to exclude certain kinds of links. Like I said, my expectations of what those links should be, may be different from theirs. And the site is theirs... If I have something I consider more interesting, I at least have the option to post it in the PBS, which is something that doesn't exist in most other sites....

where are the yoga links?
- chilaquil0
Ok, and if there's nothing that will convince you that those links should belong here, take a look at this:

How can you *not* post that...

ignore this stupid thread__
_ignorance deserves no attention.

oh yeah.. .photography is not art... this point i forgot...
- reluct0
It must be my bad English.. Most of the replies have nothing to do with what I posted. I don't think it will help, but I'll try to say it in a simple way.
I have nothing against art. Better yet. I love art! I read about art and visit museums quite often. And yes photography can be art too. But not everything that is made can be called art. The things I design are not art. So when I say I want to read about design here I mean commercial design (and photography).
If this site is an art site. In other words, not about commercial design/work, then I have picked the wrong place for my daily feed and will look elsewhere for that.sheesh....
- Mal0
But who has the right or knowledge to decide/define what art is or is not.
- reluct0
4cV... Wat ben je toch weer heerlijk Nederlands.
Als je van kunst houd ben je slim. Als je soms de voorkeur geeft aan commercie ben je dom. Beetje flauw niet?
