If you've heard his radio program you know he's a racist, xenophobic, hateful piece of shit.
He was given a show on MSNBC. http://www.fair.org/activism/msn… At the end of the article there are a couple of emails where you can send a protest letter....

Hehe. He can say whatever the hell he likes. That's what America is all about.

I'm down for free speech (which is more than I can say for him) But this guy is truly hateful, have you heard the guy? We don't give white supremacists air time.

do you have some connection to Mr. Savage?

Yeah man, I've heard him. I can't say I like listening to him, I find him to be annoying. But we can't say "free speech for everyone who is saying things we like." Free speech is free speech. We should just be grateful that there is more than one radio station, so all we have to do is turn off what we don't like.

and free speech means protest letters are fair game.

he makes sense about 5% of the time, I can't see why that is enough to get someone a television show - he is a pitiful human being - I give the show 3 months tops - his radio show will thrive though - I think it's #3 in ratings right now.
- mckenna0
Yes, protest letters certainly are fair game.
His book is selling, no?
- arnold0
if he was blatantly racist his books would sell, that doesnt mean shit.
- mckenna0
My point is simply that the guy can say whatever the hell he wants.

freedom of speech protects people to speak there minds, but not to those who spread hatred and ignorance. People cannot hide behind the consititution and be hate mongers! The laws doesn't allow that!
- mckenna0
Freedom of speech applies to everyone. I can say whatever I want about anyone I like, no?
- o0o0
right-
there's a difference between ALLOWING someone to say whatever they want, and giving them gobs of money to appear in front of millions of viewers.Right wing commentators always use the complaint that the mainstream media is too liberal. The liberals are taking over! The "liberal" media is flooded with right wing commentators making that accusation. Odd huh?
If we had shows that were as far left as Michael savage is right, I think I would be ok with his program. I want to the Noam Chomsky show on msnbc, that's what I'm talking about. (Not that Noam and Michael are equally extreme, Noam isn't a hater).
