who actually thinks its a good design?
It never works properly(on mac anyway) all the frames mess up and its ram/processor hungry.
All of it could be cut down if they wanted to make mor user freindly. And that flash menu is a bit annying. Am i alone?

its cheese
- unknown0
+ its crappy splash page.
- lind0
I do.
Looks great on the PC -- IE6.
- unknown0
i knew that would be coming.
So none of the frames mess up or anything?
- lind0
No, everything looks great.
But on IE 5, the scrollbars aren't black and customized.
What browser are you using on the Mac?
- Seph0
I agree, its cheese, but expensive, technically impressive cheese.
I almost like the menu bar.

you can't knock on NRG Designs! they practically invented the flash website!
- unknown0
do you mean 'should of considered usability'
website?using ie 5.2.
- unknown0
useablitity? i believe the website is targetted towards designers. many of us should be using IE 5+ with a decent resolution and flash plugin.
if you have problems viewing that website...well my friend, your computer is probably as dated as NRG Designs are.
Time to upgrade.

Blimey, when I started out down the web road NRG were out there, can't believe they've not updated their site. Quite nostalgic to look at it now.
I don't like Ultrashock either.

i was worried i was the only one.

its not so much about the design as the functionality and good idea behind it man

anyone remember the site for the guy w/ the tricked-out car w/ laptops and shit in it? the voice that says "ultrashock" was the same for that site...ahahahah
talk about cheese...

Good god. A site doesn't have to look good to be a good resource. And how is it not user-friendly? I find it really easy to navigate.
My questions always get answered really quickly in their forums. I'm thankful for Ultrashock, personally.

The site is definitely not my style of doing things. However, just because something is not within my realm of taste, it doesn't mean it's bad. You have to give credit where credit is due. You have to consider the site's target audience. It is *not* 55 year old farmers. I'm on a mac, and I do remember having trouble with the frames once or twice, but not anymore. It must have something to do with which set up you choose (full window, inside browser, pop-up or whatever). Oh BTW, I'm on a Powerbook that's a couple years old (the bronze one) so it's not like I have a superfast machine. However, I don't start complaining every time a site is too intensive for my old set up. If you're a designer, you should understand that we all should get with the times.
And I still find it a great resource for source files and forums. Or do you like Flashkit's design better..? Pleeeez...
How would you have done the ultrashock site einstien? As always, there's too many critics and not enough designers.
- lyrek0
opinions are like assholes, everyone's got 'em.
so quit reaming his and chill chil'.
- chilaquil0
He *asked* for everybody's opinion...
And you telling everyone to chill chill, is not YOUR opinion as well?

bottom line is ultrashock needs to be graded on content...not quality.
