Have you done work for overseas clients? Whats your best method of receiving pay?
I'm in Canada, and receiving cash from Euro clients is an overall pain- be it the fees, or the wait times, or rejection of cheques... (yes, cheques!)

If you can persuade them do a Moneygram.
That way no banks can see whats going in and coming out.

For European clients it's a sport to postpone payements for as long as legally possible. Dutch client wait for at least three months in the hope you give up. If they don't pay, ask a lawyer friend to send them an official letter. That usually does the trick.

well thanks for generalizing all Europeans you twat!
>:(I am about to hire Enobrev for a big project and I told him to choose the fastest method of payment, noone likes to wait for cash. I would pay immediate (as soon as I received my down payment) but would like to know which would be the best method as well...

Heh, actually this latest client is excellent in paying promptly. It's the banks HERE that won't cash the cheques.
Moneygram, never heard of. Link?
Paypal I have, but isn't so good with large sums. And larger companies won't deal with them (for good reason, but that's another thread).
Did a but more research. Seems the way to go is an international money order, or a telegraphic transfer. Depends on the country of course.

When I have done work with oversea clients I get cash wired to me usually. I used pay pall once, had no problems. But i prefer the wiring way better.
I have never had any problems with receiving payments from oversea clients (yet). My problems are with client in my own area. But the lawyer letter always get things moving. : )

good luck mate, you probably might receive that around 2005, if your lucky. There are so many other guidelines that different countries follow.

Lol. No problem 4cV :-) I see you are Dutch too so you must know the problem.
It was a huge problem for me when I worked as a freelance designer. In some cases I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine, because trying to get the money took so much time that it was costing me more than it would pay. Unfortunately you have to pay tax even if the client didn't pay you....
It's not a strickt rule of course. But if it's a problem for you get a pro to fix it. Because it can really be a pain in the ass.
