How do i import a flash animation into Final Cut Pro with a transparent background?
- ********0
is it possible?
does FCP take swf files?

I know you can export QuickTime files from Flash and I read it can support transparencies but I couldn't get it to work.

greenscreen the background in flash and export.
then just cut out the greenscreen.
Not what you want but might work...

how do i "cut" the greenscreen in FCP?

either chromakey the background of a flash - qt: use the chromakey filter or the green screen filter and tweak to get the right results.
or
make a flash quicktime with a white or black background and use the the multiply or screen layer mode. i have done this with much success.

Thx for the tips. worked great.
What is the best export settings from Flash to QT movies. There is an option to export as QT and QT Video. Which is best?

useful info
if you have an animation has actionscript or a series of embedded movie clips controlling it,,,as opposed to graphic symbols on a main timeline, or movieclips (playing as graphic symbols)
you can use Director to export the swf to quicktime --- with all the functionality it should have

i export as a quicktime video with the animation compressor at 720 x 540. then bring it into FCP. theres probably a btter way, but it has worked for me perfectly.
