Flash/Director slow

When I place a Flash swf inside director, the work done in Flash goes REALLY slow . Everything is in ActionScript. Frame by frame works just as slow. Any suggestions or solutions? thanks ahead of time.

it shouldn't with the new MX capabilities, are you using those?

which new capabilites in particular are you reffering to? I am using MX for both apps.

Have you got the flash sprite set to background to Trans or trans? If so it will work much faster as copy.
Frame rate? I advise both flash and director at 12fps, I know I know its too jumpy but I got best results at this.
Try not to have more than one flash sprite on the stage at one time. Swop the cast member using lingo but keep the same sprite if you need to change the flash sprite. it helps.
Errrrrrrr, cant think of much else right now but there should be loads on the big M to help you out.
And the guy before me has a point, the new MX is much better with swf's.
If you are using 8.5, dont beleive you can have a totaaly integrated Flash Director thing goin on because its just too slow, if its mostly direcot with the odd bit of flash then fine, but using director as a kind of shell just aint gonna work well.
