I placed a movie clip over my content and gave it an action to detect if the mouse was over it or not.
When the mouse is over, it switches the mouse icon as if I were rolled over a button.
Here is the script.
::::
stop.onRollOver = function() {
gotoAndStop("stop");
};
::::Is their a way to achieve this without having this problem with the mouse?
Thanks in advance.

Detect the mouse location and apply a condition for if the mouse is located in a particular region then do something.

lyrek..
Any links to samples of this?
I would rather use this version but do not know how to implement.
if you could help that would be great!

yah, use _x and _y as conditional, or just invisible button.
script seems a bit funky to me.

try this...
onClipEvent (mouseMove) {
if (this.hitTest(_root._xmouse, _root._ymouse, true)) {
this.gotoAndStop(2);
} else {
this.gotoAndStop(1);
}
}

replace gotoAndStop(2); with whatever frame label you are trying to go to... i think it was
"stop"?
