Japanese Text for Webpages

Hey all -- I've got a client that is going to need Japanese and Chinese versions of their english webpage. They're supplying the translations, so all I need to do is copy / paste the characters into and html doc -- I know that the enctype should be set to the respective languages for those pages, but is there anything else I need to do to make it go?

my initial comment would be to get someone who speaks these languages to build the site.
If you're not parsing/storing any data, really you only need to worry about specifying fonts (e.g. osaka on mac / mspgothic or msgothic on pc for japanese).
You'll also want to make sure no characters get garbled when you cut and past the content, which shouldn't be a problem if you are using OSX or a japanese version of Win, otherwise, make sure someone proofs it)

yeah...or at least hire bunch of people for beta tesing/proof-reading, especially the chinese text are the king of code-messing.

I've done a couple sites for a client who needed japanese and english. Once you get a handle of what's happening with the different language kits it's pretty easy (I also have a Japanese wife which made things a little easier as well).
Though one thing that was kind of a pain in the ass was that with English text you can just flow it however you want, but Japanese text has to flow a certain way so it get's a bit tricky making everything fit to the text area you made for the English.

yeah, the textflow is my main concern -- though there will be japanese readers proofing it. bizarre how cutting and pasting the text works with one method and not others though
at least i got it to display. who knows if the line breaks are in the right places though
