  i've noticed a lot of independent stores do new release mailing lists now. i'm on a couple i guess from just buying online - piccadilly records and streetsounds.

  i'm also on a couple for specific genres - there are tons of these around and i'm sure you could find some specific to whatever genres you're into (?) with a bit of work on google.
