Good to see so many folks coming from out of town for this! Looks like it's going to be a blast. Be sure and check out our fine city's nightlife too... some spots to check out... Halo (http://www.halolounge.com) for nice loungy downtempo chilled and laid back, MJQ (http://www.mjqconcourse.com) hip hop on Friday nights, whatever you're in to - you'll find it somewhere.
BTW - BD4D crew: are people wearing nametags to this?

All ages welcome.

Bring ID.
Earthlink will be handling the door.

Damn. I wish I could make it. Going snow skiing up in Boone this weekend. Sounds like fun.
What is the expected turnout? Any rough numbers?

Speaking of creative gatherings, I went to the ADDYs here in Atlanta on Saturday. Kind of boring to sit around and listen to category after category of award. But for $50 it was all you can drink and eat.
I don't remember anything after that.

I fly out of NYC on Friday morning/afternoon.
I hope the dirt dirty is warmer than up here.

It'll be warmer, probably around mid-60's.
How many of you are coming from out of town??
- Biofreak0

i think that is about a 6 hour drive or so. i'll check tonite after i get off of work. . . not that anyone but me really gives a damn how long a drive it is. haha.

Atlanta is a fun city - I think you out-of-towners will have a good time!
Is everyone staying for the weekend?
- 1201am0
hehe.. thanks biofreak! :)
didn't know about the addy's - what/where was that?
- Biofreak0
i plan to be about 2 hrs early. just in case....
so are you guys going too?
what is the general feel of these things? is it fairly informal?
i am planning on wearing my everyday attire and getting sloppily drunk at the bar afterwards (and during maybe).
i guess i need to see about getting some extraordinarily detailed directions before i leave.
it seems that DFF's directions link is broken somehow. mapquest, here i come.
- Biofreak0
ive no idea what i will be doing.
my brother lives in montgomery, AL so i may stay with him. but maybe not.
i guess it really just depends on what happens and who i meet. i like to keep my schedule open. i may just pass out in the gutter outside the front door.
- 1201am0
lucky for you.. there is a gutter area outside the front door! hehe j/k
- Biofreak0
right, so i am about to make some reservations.
if you wanna tell me where everyone is staying, then i may join you, if not, then i can be found at the Best Western close by the meet. (assuming they still have vacancies.)
anyone else?
- dff0
476 RSVP's so far.
If everyone brings a date thats over capacity of 900. hahaman you can go ski anytime..

At the Atlanta Apparel Mart. All the agencies from in and around town get together for the Best of Atlanta Advertising. The best of the best go onto the Regionals and hopefully then to the National Addys.
We did pretty well. Of course, some people took advantage of the open bar during the awards. It was the first time I had attended such an event. And I discovered that the before and after parties are much more entertaining than the main event.
