opera's losing your esteem for this? are you being ironic?

that, and the safari debacle.
I'm not a big fan of lowball tactics. and it takes too long to distinguish this from all the other ms bashing out there.

"safari debacle."
Very nice.
You better back up with some solid facts!

you're not a big fan of lowball tactics, but you're dissing this, which was opera's response to MSN's lowball tactics rather than dissing MSN?
you can diss this for it being 'an eye for an eye', but not for unfair tactics.

What David Hyatt of the Safari team thought about it:

quick correction: it's a fiasco, not a debacle. my bad.
and i'm specifically attacking opera's professionalism. It makes them look like a bunch of middle school brats. I frankly expect better of them. I'm not gonna bother bashing MS cos it's not like everyone else hasn't already.

There might be a lot of stuff written about it...I just speak from personal opinion, I surf for over 6 weeks with Safari now and I am very impressed...yesterday I put together a page in XHTML/CSS, and it validates, but ad to change numerous things to make it work in IE!! I was stunned. Safari had more flexibility with CSS for that particular page.....so far so good.
