trying to turn my laptop running OSX 10.2 into a testing server with mysql and php. Its not the server version but it can be done.
its just a pain in the ass always uploading your stuff to test it (esp. with a modem)Anyone done it? If so how the hell did you . Links would be great.

Just set up a server on my old 9600 running 10.1. All is well now, but MySQL is a bitch if your new to it. All the GUI tools to manage databases only run on Jag......hence my sour attitude.
Aarons CompleteMySQL looks nice, but also all his stuff installs into user directories instead of the server root built into OS X. This has caused probs for some.....just read his forums.
I ended up using marc's tools. http://www.entropy.ch/software/m…
the macdevcenter tutes are a great help.....

I haven't quite grasped how to use it when its all installed. is there a step by step tutorial for muppets of how to install mysql and then create a database, where you put your site to test it and so on.
its driving me mad cos im having to upload everything toe test using a poxy modem. thanx again.
