pdf question

  I have a PDF document in a site that will display when linked to (clicking a link on a page). But it won't display if you type in the address or link to it from Outlook. The browser sees the file as "Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX" and asks if I want to save or open the file. Neither works. I've tested this on multiple machines and get the same problem. Any ideas or suggestions?
