bloody hell! You wait for one bus and two come along at once!
After months of freelancing I have been offered two full-time positions.
One is with NTL, and I would be the broadband designer for their new broadband website - in charge of developing and designing it. Pay is the mid 20's
The other is with a mid-size agency in south london where I have been freelancing for a few months off and on. Very corporate work - cisco, ms, 3com, sony, hp etc... Pay is the low 30's.
In all honesty, I am probably going to take the agency one - cos all the people here are fucking ace and I like the work.
The NTL job would be very cool though - designing broadband websites and content...but the pay is pretty poor...
What would you do?

Id take the one Id be happy with..... theres nothing worse than going to work each day and hating it.
- jevad0
i'd be happy with both!

Do the math ;)

I'd be in the pub patting my back and skinning up a large one.......

Congrats!
Take the one where you get on with the people best. You are going to spend most of your waking hours with them, it's soooo important to actually like them!

not only that you would have a variety of jobs with the agency but with NTL you would be doing the same thing day in day out. Variety is the spice of life! Oh and the money would do you nicely!
- jevad0
hahaha OnD - good suggestion!
I think the math is winning on this one.....

take the one with the most security, cause job hunting is no fun.
- Blofeldt0
Yes, the job security issue is important. Usually that would be with the big corp. But you just can't tell at the moment. If the smaller agrency have a lot of clients who are onretainers that would be a nice saftey net. But if they need toconstantly win big projects and don't get one. You know what they say. First in first out.
Although i'd probably go for the agency.

take the ca$h seabass!
I wouldn't consider NTL a safe option, they're in some serious shit. Its good to work somewhere with variety, there's only so much purple and green you can take!

Is mid 20s considered bad money these days? That sounds pretty decent, but I suppose it's London isn't it.

congrats jevad...
i think you've made the right choice (agency)
the variety will do you and your portfolio good, and the money is better, and you have been working with those folks for awhile freelance, so they know ya...
sounds good to me!cheers !

if NTL's service record is anything to go buy, take the agency job.

I'm waiting for my bus to arrive too!!!
Man, I think that is the only thing that is keeping going everyday as I walk into this "polical battle field" some people would call work.
My "friend" knows people in very high places and he spoke to the VP of information tech at a very well known computer company last month so he could interview me.
I pray everyday that this deal lands soon!

Take both jobs part time for a month and weigh them up.
- auricom0
well money talks, if they are somewhat even in most aspects then i'd pick the one with the higher salary. financial freedom is nice.
- mitsu0
financial freedom is nice.
financial freedom = true freedom
