I added some more logo studies, and started workign with some color variations...

I like the one at the very bottom to the right, something about the big stretched text in the others doesn't sit well with me, just seems a bit too, i don't know, futurey and harsh... a little too terminator 2 :)

thats a good point actually, but i still think of t2 when i see that font. There aren't too many letters, maybe making up your own logotype that is inspired by the cool logo thingy

that's an idea...
i do have a old Power Computing @ home from which i just run a Hotline server, and i have Fontographer installed on it...which brings me to my next question....
is fontographer still the only app for creating fonts ?
it's so damn old, and not even sure if it works on a pc...peace out

oh I agree do your own font I hate logos with just a thin font .

It's not the only app for creating fonts, but it certainly is the best (in my opinion, anyways).

if i do decide to create my own font, this would be the very first time i do something like that...
I have altered fonts before usinf fontographer... but never made my own font from scratch... even tho' i do have abunch of ideas and sketches for potential fonts...We'll see...
maybe i will create my own font... maybe I won't :)what other font creation app is there... other then fontographer.... ?

I don't really bother with fontographer, its okay (as far as i remember (and i don't think its changed much, if at all, in the last 3 years)) i just make the words i need in llustrator and thats it, gives u more freedom to join letters together and so fourth, just click on snap to grid and you're ready to go :)

Here's my crit on these, i like the idea you've got going with the sections (hah pardon the pun), but I think you should especially keep to the blue/green combos they invoke a serene thinking kind of feel, especially the lighter combinations i think. Also if I had to pick one of your current ones as a winner I'd go with the one that is on the top right of the two collumns after the newstoday inspired text. Yeah thats a winner, IMHO. Good stuff all around man....

much better- i would say the most effective one is in the first six pack on the revised logos... bottom right... one thing I would try follin with is your size relationship between the logotype and the logo mark

btw I really like the treatment of the last 2 logos at the bottom. The type is clean and modern.
I do prefer the one on the left.

i kind of liked the very last one, bottom right.
the colors are unique and so is the symbol, or at least no other company comes to mind when i see that particular mark...
i see the name and immediately make a connection with the logo IDEAcore as in the core, center, nucleus, etc. and although it's on the verge of being almost too literal it works pretty damn well!

i would say 06. is good, looks like it could be easily replicated in 1 colour. the bottom left looks good too.
you gotta watch the distance between the 'i' and the 'd' in idea, they look as though they could merge. maybe try lower case 'idea', will help define the two letters.
its good you have done a lot, more to choose from, or push further.
